The Queen appeared radiant at this afternoon’s Platinum Jubilee Trooping of the Colour Ceremony as people from around the world gathered in London to celebrate her 70 years on the throne.

With events taking place across Britain over the four-day weekend, Platinum Jubilee celebrations got underway in London with the traditional Trooping of the Colour ceremony, and an impressive RAF flypast which demonstrated impressive aerial displays.

Joined by members of the Royal Family including the Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall and Princess Charlotte, the Queen appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the official celebrations as thousands gathered to witness the Platinum Jubilee events unfold.

Following Thursday’s events, a special Service of Thanksgiving is set to take place at St Paul’s Catherdal on Friday. Among other weekend events include the Derby at Epsom Downs attended by the Royal Family and the Platinum Party which is to be live-streamed from the Palace on Saturday.

Queen Elizabeth II is the longest serving Monarch in British history, and the Platinum Jubilee long weekend marks a historic milestone which will include a number of world record attempts taking place across the country.
